Reading UK events
Reading UK hosts networking events throughout the year to raise the profile of Reading as an area for growth and investment and in which to relocate. The forums are a fantastic opportunity for businesses to stay up-to-date with Reading’s ongoing development; as new offices and housing are developed, infrastructure is improved and lifestyle and cultural opportunities are created. The events are also a great opportunity to network with key organisations in Reading’s regeneration story such as Reading Borough Council, Reading UK CIC and prospective investors and occupiers. In November 2015, Reading UK hosted the first ‘Reading Economic Forum’, which was attended by 150 delegates from across Reading and the Thames Valley.
The events are arranged by Reading UK CIC and regeneration specialists, 3Fox International.
Nigel Horton Baker, executive director of Reading UK CIC hosted the inaugural launch of the Reading Economic Forum. The forum aimed to provide in-depth analysis of Reading’s performance, as well as the latest information on local infrastructure developments, inward investment and the challenges facing Reading, as one of the UK’s top ‘good growth’ regions.
A drinks reception followed the event, providing delegates with plenty of opportunities to network with fellow business leaders from Reading and the wider Thames Valley, Reading Borough Council, investors and developers.
The launch of Reading:UK magazine issue 4 took place in September 2014 at a special networking event at the town's recently-launched office scheme, One Valpy.
The event took place on the 17 September and was an opportunity for key representatives from Reading’s business development community to take part in networking sessions with members of Reading UK CIC, the economic development company for the area.
Its executive director, Nigel Horton-Baker, was the keynote speaker.
Delegates who attended include: Benson Elliot, be:here, Campbell Gordon, CBRE, Connect Reading, Field Seymour Parkes, Haslams, JDP, M&G, Montagu Evans, Peter Brett Associates, Savills, Stanhope, Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce, UK Property Forums, University of Reading, Willmott Dixon and many more.
