Reading is one of the best 10 office locations in the UK, according to research.

The town came seventh in a list of most desirable places for offices outside of London, out of 373 locations that were taken into consideration.

The research, named Hot 100 Office Index 2017, was carried out by location specialist CACI for Property Week and was published on 7 April.

The areas were assessed based on worker population, density, demographics, rising prosperity and the proportion of people classed as affluent achievers.

‘Affluent achievers’ are defined as educated, financially successful people employed in managerial or professional occupations.

Also considered was how well connected the areas are via public transport and the quality of their road networks. Catering and retail provisions and WIFI were also measured.

Reading’s worker population is within 16sq m, the smallest area of the top ten locations. Resulting in a high worker density at almost 14,700 workers per square mile.

Reading was ranked A for worker density, prosperity, affluent achievers, public transport, catering and retail provisions.

Also featured in the top 10 was Brighton in first place, followed by Edinburgh and Cardiff.
